Policy no longer needed
The circumstances in David's life have changed and so have his insurance needs. His policy is no longer needed nor wanted. While his insurance policy may have made sense at one point it now no longer serve its useful purpose. His spouse, for whom the policy was originally purchased, is now deceased. David may be able to settle the policy, receiving more value than had he simply lapsed or surrendered it, and use the proceeds for whatever future needs he deems fit.
Are there more attractive alternatives than to lapse or surrender a policy for David? Very likely. What steps should he take next?
