Global Business Intelligence for Asia
Take Advantage of LISA’s Expertise and Network in Asia
As a LISA Member, here is how you can take advantage of this expertise:
- Consult the LISA Asian Globalization Resources Survey if you need help building business plans for entering the Chinese market. Drawing on in-depth interviews with executives from more than 210 companies in China, the survey identifies market opportunities, offers detailed information on spending allocation and provides executive opinions on the language industry in this region.
- Contact other LISA Members who are already present in Asia (38 in all, representing more than 1000 language industry professionals) through the LISA Members Domain. Leverage their insight and experience to avoid wasting time and money in reinventing the wheel.
Don’t reinvent the wheel in your global business planning! Don’t wander the cyber seas!
- Leverage the wealth of information for Asia in the LISA Archives when doing your strategic planning. LISA has been holding Forums in Asia since 1995 in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Yokohama and Singapore. With over 1,200 participants, there is a wealth of business intelligence in the form of presentations, case studies and panels that are available for free to LISA Members. This information cannot be found anywhere else since the presenters have shared candidly what works and what doesn’t when doing business in Asia.
- Mention your affiliation with LISA when working with organizations such as the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the Japan Technical Communicators Association (JTCA) and the Japanese Personal Computer Software Association (JPSA). LISA just presented last week at the JTCA Annual Meeting and Conference in Tokyo and often collaborates with other groups in the region.
- Take advantage of the support for Chinese, Japanese and Korean in LISA standards, products and publications. For just two examples, check out the LISA QA Model 3.0 and the LISA Localization Industry Primer.
Why reinvent the wheel in your global business planning in 2005? Is your organization just starting to do business in Asia? Then come to LISA for the information and education you need to be successful. If your company is already a player in the region, then consult LISA for the standards and best practice guidelines needed to hone your global marketing strategy to generate a better return on investment in the region.
