Scripts, Scripts Everywhere, But Nary a Letter to Use
The Politics and Culture of Scripts
Adapting software to different scripts can be a major hassle, but it is something most localizers know how to deal with. You need properly internationalized tools and fonts, right? You need script- and locale-appropriate sorting algorithms, hyphenators, and spell-checkers. But is all this enough? What about when you don’t know what script to use for a language, or scripts have political implications? What do you do?
