Introduction and Tech Briefs

Pierre Cadieux, LISA Newsletter Technology Editor

Pierre Cadieux

Welcome to another technology issue of the LISA newsletter. In this issue, we have a very informative article by Tom Emerson on the new GB18030 character set which is legally required in China. Matta Saikali presents the first article of a three-article series on internationalization and localization testing. And I continue the work started with Bert in the last technology issue, forever searching for the true nature of internationalization.

A new feature in this issue is the set of "technology briefs" below which summarize interesting technology related tidbits pertinent to our industry; each brief is provided with a link for More Information....

Since this is the first publication of these "technology briefs", it starts a little further back in time. Note that all the links tested valid as of May 20, 2002.
