The Dos and Don’ts of Doing Business in China

China is a hot topic, as the interest in the last LISA Forum—Asia in Beijing showed. Publishers, MLVs, SLVs and tools vendors are all scrambling to position themselves on this potentially vast market. However, finding one’s feet in this foreign and rapidly changing environment is not easy, and returns are not immediate. In the following article, which is based on interviews conducted at the Beijing Forum and afterwards, LISA members with experience of China recommend a pragmatic approach.
