09:00 - 09:15 Welcome and Introduction
09:15 - 10:15 Writing Effectively, Part 1
  This unit addresses principles of good sentence construction and grammatical guidelines for sentences, including case for nouns and pronouns, verbs, and agreement for subject, verb, and other sentence components.
10:15 - 10:45 Coffee Break
10:45 - 11:45 Writing Effectively, Part 2
  This unit discusses how to write clear sentences—how to use parallel constructions and modifiers correctly, and which constructions to avoid, including misplaced and dangling modifiers, stacked nouns, sentence fragments, fused sentences, and comma splices.
11:45 - 12:15 Writing Effectively, Part 3
  This unit discusses mechanics and usage notes for abbreviations and acronyms, capitalization, punctuation, and use of italics.
12:15 - 13:30 Lunch
13:30 - 14:15 Writing Effectively, Part 4
  This unit discusses appropriate word choices and identifies misused/abused words. It also discusses spelling issues—rules, compound words, use of hyphens, and unit modifiers.
14:15 - 14:45 Getting Ready to Write
  This unit discusses how to determine the audience, scope, and tone for the document, how to organize material and determine content and type of deliverable, and reviews how write topic sentences and paragraphs.
14:45 - 15:15 Coffee Break
15:15 - 16:00 Understanding Your Audience
  Determining the audience(s) for a document is key to ensuring that the finished product successfully addresses the needs of the reader. This unit discusses the kinds of information—questions to ask and research required—to determine the intended audience for a document.
16:00 - 16:45 Understanding the Documentation Process
  Preparing technical documentation involves more than writing or editing information. This unit discusses the players or stakeholders that need to be involved, the reviews that are required, and provides an overview of the process for preparing technical manuals and other documentation for a project.
16:45 - 17:00 Discussion and conclusion
