WordForge Project

*WordForge* is a project that attempts to facilitate localization of Free and Open Source software by producing a complete set of state-of-the-art tools for computers-assisted localization, implementing the LISA standards as its information storage structures and as the means of communication between the different modules, while maintaining process information to simplify collaborative work and reduce the review and localisation maintenance work and costs. WordForge is developed keeping in mind localisation in small countries that do not have advanced technical or translation skills. The project employs staff in Africa, Asia and Europe, and receives help from many other Open Source programmers. If is funded by the Open Society Institute, and its administrative base is the Zuza Software Foundation in South Africa, which is also involved in localization of Open Source software to 11 South African languages.
