Ensuring International Business Success
Through Global Processes and Technologies

Geneva, Switzerland. 27 April, 2005

What works? Why is it working, and, Can it be improved? These issues are the focus of LISA's Global Strategies Summit being held in Boston on May 23-27, 2005. It will be LISA's 51st conference in which more than 200 professionals involved in the global business of selling products and supporting customers worldwide will come together to gain expertise and exchange ideas. Leading companies representing end-users, systems developers and service providers to governmental and standards bodies will provide their insights. Speakers include representatives from Avaya, British Airways, EMC, Kronos, Novell, IBM, GE Advanced Materials, American Express, Tivoli Systems, HP, SDL International and the World Bank, among others.

The LISA Global Strategies Summit in Boston will provide the latest perspective on how to implement global business, both at the high level needed for management, and at the practical level needed to make company mandates reality. In a lecture and workshop format, attendees will learn how successful companies are achieving faster delivery and turnaround time for all types of content - from print to web - and in multiple languages.

LISA is collaborating with sponsors and trade associations such as IBM, Hewlett Packard, SDL International, Jonckers Translation & Engineering, Acclaro, OASIS, the American Translators Association, ASPonline and Software Business Magazine to promote the industry and to develop standards and best practices.

"Integration of domestic and global business requires the implementation of processes and technologies to support global markets and deliver benefits to end users, regardless of language or location," said Michael Anobile, Director of the Localization Industry Standards Association.

"While the technical support for such large-scale business is now being fully implemented, human factors and resistance to change are often greater hurdles," he added. "Only an understanding of the requirements of global business, and experience with how to meet these demands, can help companies make appropriate decisions and fully embrace the processes and technologies to ensure success."

A Language Technology and Automated Workflow and Service Exhibition showcasing the latest products and tools on the market, as well as LISA's well-known Resource Channel, will run concurrently with seminars and speakers. You can learn more at www.lisa.org/events/2005boston/
