Overview

This year's annual meeting is aimed at exploring new technologies and markets for the localization industry. The entire event will be comprised of a LISA Internationalization Workshop, Executive Round Table, LISA Press Conference, and the LISA General Assembly Meeting, which this year will be a dinner, black-tie affair.

As the information society becomes a reality, more industries are implementing software based applications in a varity of new ways - from software-driven medical devices to multimedia based sales and support tools for automotive companies. With the globalization of business these and other industries are increasingly demanding more localization services. The customer focus is shifting to the Internet, where the result is a huge increase in multiple language content, often published daily. This accelerated publishing requirement is driving the development of faster and smarter automatic translation and multilingual search tools, speech engines as well as localization expertise. But where is it really working and what are the results?

Through workgroup discussions, panel presentations and technology review sessions, the forum will present a snaphsot of where the industry is today - and where it appears to be heading - with and without the help of technology!
