GILT Industry 2003 Salary Survey

Overview

The GILT Industry 2003 Salary Survey report provides a picture of salary ranges in the Globalization, Internationalization, Localization and Translation (GILT) industry around the world, and will be useful to both companies hiring (and retaining) talent, and to individuals seeking employment in the GILT industry. It examines pay rates for the sixteen typical job descriptions in the GILT arena, based on by the rates paid by 230 companies. (These companies provided thousands of pay rates for their positions around the world.)

Information was gathered from responses to an on-line survey conducted on the LISA website from February through June 2003.

The report examines how GILT salaries are affected by company type, geographical location, job description and seniority. Details of this influence may be found in the survey report, as well as detailed salary range figures for all job descriptions considered in the survey. As an example of the survey findings, it was found that there is considerably less pay variation between junior and senior staff in European companies when compared to other regions of the world and DTP and project management specialists have among the poorest pay rates and career options of any industry employees.

The report contains five figures, six tables, as well as detailed job description and salary range tables for each of the job descriptions considered.
